Summer Finance and Accounting
Conference in Jerusalem 2019

General Information

Please make sure your passport is valid for at least six months after you plan to leave Israel. Also, if you are holding a passport other than Israeli or US, please check with the Israeli consulate in your area whether you need a visa to enter Israel.

You will arrive at the Ben Gurion International Airport located about 47 km from Jerusalem. While Israel is known for its strict security and travel safety checks, these security measures are similar to those currently practiced in the US. Please be prepared to answer questions regarding the reason for your visit, the length of your visit and your place of stay.

Miscellaneous Information

"New Israeli Shekel" or NIS. Currently, exchange rates are as follows: US$1 = 3.577 NIS, 1 Euro = 4.162 NIS (these rates are subject to changes). A taxi from the airport to Jerusalem will cost approx. 250-300 NIS, but there are shared taxis (called "sheirut") that efficiently bring you to the destination as well that cost about 65 NIS per person. We suggest that you avoid transacting with foreign currency. We recommend that you either bring at least 500 NIS with you or use the ATM machine at the airport to withdraw cash (a cash machine located opposite customs).

Please note that on Sabbath, from Friday at sundown to Saturday at sundown, public train and bus services are not available.
